Our assignment today was to check out Flickr and blog about one of the photos that we find there. Naturally, I did a search on “librarian” and came up with this photo here. By gosh, I said, there’s one dedicated librarian for you. Imagine having “I Heart the Dewey Decimal System” tattooed on your back. Of course, once I took a closer look and followed the link to her blog, Evil Mad Scientist, I realized that her tattoo was actually a temporary one from a booklet of temp tattooes entitled “The Illustrated Librarian” and available through Archie McPhee.
Of course, while scrolling through the Evil Mad Scientist blog, I came across her article on how to carve a Cylon Pumpkin. When you see a title like that, you’ve gotta read the article so I did and then I followed her link to the YouTube video where she demonstrates the pumpkin’s “eye” action (very cool). From there I was distracted by a Battlestar Galactica parody featuring Roombas, those little robotic vacuums. It’s completely hysterical if you’ve seen the new series’ opening sequence.
Once I had found all these cool things, I then had to spend some time figuring out how to post links to them in this blog. Links seem doable, but apparently I need a Flickr account before I can actually post Flickr pikkers to my blog.
