Everybody, regardless of their ethnic background, loves Celtic music. So once again I’ve assembled a collection of music videos for your listening pleasure. I’m mixing it up a bit this time, pulling both Irish and Scottish songs.
Starting us off is Denis O’Leary, comedian and singer, with “Traditional Irish Folk Song.”
“We have no heads, we have no heads.” Ah, doesn’t that just reek of the old country. No? Well, try out this rendition of “Molly Malone”, sometimes known as “Cockles and Mussels”.
That’s The Ferrymen live from the Jameson Distillery (Patsy Watchorn and Friends).
Here’s a band of sweet lasses, Cherish the Ladies, with their rendition of the Robert Burns’ poem, “Green Grow the Rushes-O”.
The High Kings step it out with their rendition of “Mairi’s Wedding.”
I like the way this song approximates a Scottish reel.
Here’s an American group, The Wailin’ Jennys, with “Parting Glass.”
And finally to close us out, The Wicked Tinkers, who bill themselves as a Scottish tribal drummers. They bring down the house with this medley of pipe and drum tunes. I particularly like their rendition of “Do You Think I’m Sexy?”
